Morning Star Editorial Policy re Candidates for the Fall Municipal Elections

After an informative conversation with Mr Richard Rolke I was made aware that online comments by candidates will not be published because it is felt it would compromise the publication's neutral position as regarding the election.

I feel the Morning Star is missing a golden opportunity to be a forum for lively debate on issues of concern in Greater Vernon. Comments made online do not require paper or ink and essentially are instantaneous. Surely an online version of opinion or letters to the editor open to the candidates would provide the online public with easy access to what the candidates think. 

Still ,the paper is supposed to make money. Maybe the number of hits to their online paper would surely justify the advertising fees for exposure. Someone in their marketing department must have some idea how this could work.
